supporting the Product Solutions business engage in the marketing, sales and
distribution of performance as well as specialty products across chemicals and
lubricants businesses. The India planning teams are also embedded with global
business units for business planning and analytics.
ExxonMobil’s LNG affiliate in India supporting the upstream business provides consultant services for other ExxonMobil upstream affiliates and conducts LNG market-development activities.
The Global Business Center - Technology Center provides a range of technical
and business support services for ExxonMobil’s operations around the globe.
WHAT ROLE YOU WILL PLAY IN OUR TEAM
We seek to hire an experienced Naval
Architect / Marine Engineer to work at ExxonMobil's Bangalore Technology Center
in Bangalore, India. The candidate would be part of ExxonMobil's Global
Marine Engineering team and provide technical support and expertise to our
Business Lines (Low Carbon Solutions, Upstream, and Product Solutions) as well
as to the Global Projects organization. Skill areas of interest under
this job title include floating and fixed structures, marine hydrodynamics,
marine systems, marine integrity management, structural dynamics, offloading
systems, station-keeping, riser dynamics, metocean, and marine transportation.
Candidate will receive the appropriate training and opportunities to further
learn and grow in order to have a successful long-term career at ExxonMobil.
Work location is Bengaluru, Karnataka,
India.
v Guide development of recommendations for
field-specific development concepts for production and transportation of
various products (e.g crude, LNG, liquid CO2, NH3, others),covering the full
life-cycle of the asset.
v Identify and champion implementation of
suitable emerging technologies in marine space to improve safety,drive
competiveness and step-changes in value realized.
v Perform design verifications and
fitness-for-service assessments of offloading systems, and advise Operations on
residual risk, testing programs and equipment strategies.
v Support marine integrity management and life
extension activities; lead RCFAs and risk assessments related to
hull,mooring,marine systems,offloading and marine operations.
v Evaluate loads and responses of offshore
structures(e.g. floaters, risers/umbilicals,offloading systems),taking into
account key critical parameters and inter-disciplinary interfaces.
v Guide development and/or qualification of new
technologies for implementation in the field of marine engineering.
v Perform floating systems condition,damage, and
degradation assessments;evaluate system reliability and operational risks.
v Provide advice / guidance on application of
various industry codes and standards(e.g. API, ISO, ABS, DNV) and assessment
methods; manage interfaces with Classification Societies and local regulators.
v Monitor and provide engineering oversight of
third party engineering contractors and marine service providers to our
Business Partners.
v Review, interpret, and evaluate contractor-supplied
design and engineering deliverables; guide contractor in selection of analysis
tools and methodologies.
v Sustain ExxonMobil's culture of safety and
support compliance with established safety management systems for our fleet of
floating assets.
v Support ExxonMobil's vision to lead in the
energy transition.
v Mentor and guide less experienced marine
engineers in the area of naval architecture and marine engineering.
Ø Bachelor of Engineering or Ph.D. degree
in naval architecture, offshore engineering, ocean engineering or a related
discipline (e.g aerospace,structural) from recognized university with CGPA 6
& above
Ø Minimum 3 year’s of experience in a position
dealing with naval architecture/marine engineering or closely-related
professional engineering experience in the oil and gas industry
Ø Strong general knowledge of floating asset
types (Spar,TLP,FPSO,FSO,FSRU,FLNG),concept description, features,application,
analyses,range and operations
Ø Strong background in fixed and floating
structures, hydrodynamics, marine integrity management, structural
dynamics,offloading systems,riser systems, metocean,and marine transportation.
Ø Good working knowledge in offloading system
components design/operations, equipment strategies, and requirements for
handling,inspection, maintenance and repair.
Ø Good working knowledge of marine structures
and hull structural response.
Ø Good working knowledge of global riser
analyses
Ø Familiarity with mooring strength and fatigue
analyses for spread and turret moored systems, as well as with anchor types and
geotechnical analyses
Ø Basic knowledge of marine systems.
Ø Working knowledge of codes, standards and practices
and their application (e.g.ABS,DNV,API,ISO codes etc)
Ø Long-term interest in working in a technical
role in naval architecture / marine engineering
Ø Willing and able to travel, as required, for
short periods to support specialized technical activities,potential for longer
term assignments overseas
Qualifications/
Experience:
Ø Vessel motion analysis
Ø Marine hydrodynamics
Ø Station-keeping analyses
Ø Riser systems / analysis
Ø Knowledge of metocean criteria
Ø Broad knowledge of industry standards, best
practices, and related work processes
Ø knowledge in dynamic concepts such as
resonance, non-linear damping, coupled and un-coupled analyses, etc
Ø knowledge in probabilistic and statistical
design methods
Ø knowledge in mathematical, statistical, and
reliability analyses
Ø Familiar with LNG carrier design, including:
containment, gas/vapor management, safety and propulsion systems
Ø Experienced in numerical modeling and dynamic
analyses of marine structural systems.
Ø Software/programming (e.g. OrcaFlex, ANSYS
AQWA, Flexcom, Phyton, Matlab, etc.)
Ø Ability to adapt to tight deadlines and
frequent changes in priorities
Ø Strong leadership, influencing, and
interpersonal skills
Ø Willing to travel domestically or internationally
Ø Strong innovation and teamwork capabilities
Ø Excellent communication skills(written and
verbal)
