Brief Description: The University of Technology Sydney (UTS) is a public research university located in Sydney, Australia. Although its origins are said to trace back to the 1870s.University of Technology Sydney International Scholarship was founded in its current form in 1988. As of 2017, UTS enrolls 44,753 students, including 31,893 undergraduate and 12,860 postgraduate students through its 9 faculties and schools.

History About the School

 University of Technology Sydney International Scholarship is regarded as one of Australia's leading young universities (under 50 years old), ranked 1st in Australia and 10th in the world by the 2019 QS World University Rankings. In 1976 NSWIT establishes the first law school in NSW outside the university sector. In 1985 the Haymarket Campus is officially opened.

On 8 October 1987 university status is granted to NSWIT, which was followed by the passing of the University of Technology, Sydney, Act 1987. It was reconstituted as the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) in 1988, along with the incorporation of the School of Design of the former Sydney College of the Arts. In 1989, the University of Technology, Sydney, Act 1989 (NSW) formed UTS by absorbing the Kuring-gai College of Advanced Education (KCAE) and the Institute of Technical and Adult Teacher Education (ITATE) of the Sydney College of Advanced Education. An academic Structure of nine faculties and 25 schools was established in 1991.

NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL RECOGNITION

The Faculty of Health is a dynamic and growing faculty delivering outstanding results. We are recognised both nationally and internationally for the excellence in our teaching and the quality and impact of our research.

 In the latest ERA research exercise, (2018) we rated at world standard and above in Nursing and Midwifery and Human Movement and Sport Science (ERA 5s), Public Health and Health Services, Complementary and Alternative Medicine, Pharmacology and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Clinical Sciences, and Psychology and Cognitive Sciences (ERA 4s).

 ELIGIBILITY FOR THE SCHOLARSHIP:

Ø  A candidate needs to fulfill each of the following requirements in order to be eligible for the Scholarship:

Ø  Current school leavers or gap year students having an Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank (ATAR) or comparable score, as well as citizens of Australia or New Zealand, holders of an Australian permanent resident visa, or holders of a permanent humanitarian visa

Ø  Enrollment in a UTS Faculty of Health undergraduate program full-time, including enrollment in their first eight subjects as a full-time load, is required for the term of the scholarship.

 PROCEDURE FOR SELECTION

ü  Academic distinction at the 12th grade level, without extra points and ranked in ATAR order.

ü  Priority will be given by the UAC to undergraduate degrees from the UTS Faculty of Health at the time of selection.

ü  Applicants will be given special consideration if they used the optional UTS online Elite School Leavers Scholarship Application form.

ü  Scholarship applications that exhibit a motivation to succeed in the selected Faculty of Health degree program may be taken into consideration.

ü  Initiative in both personal and professional life as shown in the scholarship application may be taken into consideration.
